Duo Universal Prompt Instructions

Overview

Blinn College's Duo two-factor authentication system has been upgraded to Duo's new Universal Prompt.

The new prompt automatically pushes a Duo verification alert to your registered device. You no longer have to click in order to push out the verification prompt.

Step by Step Guide

1.  Click Yes, this is my device in most cases. It is equivalent to the old “Remember me for four hours” checkbox. If you click No, other people use this device, you will be prompted for a Duo push every time you access an SSO resource on this browser.

2.  If you do not press the verification prompt in time, the Duo Push will time out. You can choose Try again or Other options. Note that the Other options screen can be accessed from the initial screen (above, left), too. If you do not have a way to receive Duo pushes yet, click Need help?

Other Options

Other options to log in include entering a Duo Mobile passcode or a bypass code from the Help Desk. From this screen, you can add an additional device if you need to, after confirming your identity.

1.  Clicking Duo Push will send the push to your existing device again.

2.  Clicking Duo Mobile passcode will prompt you to enter the passcode from the Duo app installed on your device. This passcode is hidden via asterisks. You will need to tap Show in order to see the passcode, then type it into the Enter your passcode box and click Verify.

3.  If you have no device and no other way to verify with Duo, please call our Help Desk at 979-830-4357. Help Desk personnel will give you a Bypass code, and you will need to click here to enter it. Then click Verify.

4.  Clicking Manage devices will allow you to add another device to your Duo pushes. This can be handy if you have a tablet and want pushes to go there as well as your phone, a second phone, or a new phone. After clicking, you will be prompted to verify your identity by either a push to your existing device, a mobile passcode or a bypass code from the Help Desk.

5.  Once verified, you will go to the devices page. Here you can click I have a new phone or Add a device.
