Service Description
Fax2mail is an online service that allows users to send and receive faxes via email, eliminating the need for a traditional fax machine.
How It Works
- Sending a fax: You send an email from your designated email address to a specific fax number provided by the service. The email's subject line becomes the fax header, and the email's body becomes the cover page. The service then converts the email into a fax and sends it to the recipient's fax machine.
- Receiving a fax: Senders provide the service's assigned fax number. The system receives the fax, converts the document into a digital file (like a PDF or TIFF), and forwards it as an attachment to your email inbox.
Benefits
- Viewing a fax: You can open the attached PDF or TIFF file in your email to view, save, print, or forward the fax from your computer or mobile device.
- Cost savings: Reduces or eliminates costs associated with traditional fax machines, phone lines, and paper.
- Convenience: Allows you to send and receive faxes from any device with an internet connection and email access, including computers, tablets, and smartphones.
- Efficiency: Eliminates busy signals and capacity constraints, ensuring delivery.
- Security: Many services use encryption to secure sent and received files.
- Environmental friendliness: Reduces paper waste.
