Polycom 600 Basic Features

Overview

The Polycom CX600, was originally introduced as a Lync phone, but does still function with Microsoft Teams.  Key actions for using it with Teams involve connecting via USB to a PC with the Teams client, using the phone's screen for calls/voicemail/calendar, and managing settings like contacts and status through its interface.  The phone acts as a dedicated Teams device, letting you make calls, join meetings from the calendar, and manage contacts directly from the phone's interface. 

Key Functions & How-To

  • Sign-in: Use your Microsoft Teams credentials directly on the phone or via a web sign-in method, or connect via USB to your computer to use your Teams account.
  • Calls: Tap the phone icon, dial a number, search the directory, or select contacts from Favorites/Recents to make calls.
  • Meetings: Join scheduled meetings from the Calendar tab, or use the phone for conference calls.
  • Contacts/Favorites: Add contacts to Speed Dial for quick access.
  • Voicemail: Check and play messages from the voicemail icon; call back directly from the contact card.
  • In-Call Options: Use "More" for Hold, Transfer (blind or consult), or Park calls.
  • Calendar: Join meetings directly from the Calendar screen.
  • Status: Change your presence (Available, Do Not Disturb, etc.) from the Teams menu or Home screen.
  • Settings (Menu > Settings): Adjust Display (brightness, dark mode), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Headset settings, and more. 
  • USB Audio Mode: Connect a USB headset to your computer via the phone and select USB Audio mode to use the phone as a speaker/mic for PC Teams calls.

Settings & Customization

  • General: Adjust Language, Date/Time, Display (backlight, dark mode) in Settings.
  • Headset: Configure headset options in Settings > Device Settings > Headset.
  • Lock: Set a PIN to lock the phone for security in Device Settings.
