Blinn College provides equipment with approved standard configurations for classrooms, labs, and meeting places. Upgrades or new purchase requests are subject to Supervisor and Academic Technology approval.
Before you submit ...
- Justify your request: You will need to explain why the new hardware is necessary for the course's instructional needs. Only hardware used for classroom instruction, lab, or meeting space use will be installed.
- Lead Time: Please submit your request with 4-5 weeks notice for major equipment changes. Late requests will be subject to technician availability and resources.
Please provide the following ...
- Location: The building and room number where the software needs to be installed.
- Usage: Include details about how the device will be used.
- Quantity: The number of devices needed.
What Happens Next?
Request Service. This will start the process of evaluation of specific needs, device specifications, procurement, preparation, and installation. Academic Technology will review the request for:
- Compatibility with existing systems
- Potential infrastructure impact(s)
- Potential duplication of existing hardware/software functionality
- Physical maintenance requirements
- System maintenance requirements
Installation will be scheduled at a time of least impact to the classroom, lab, or meeting space.
