Setup a New Teams Phone

Overview

If you have received a new Teams phone, please follow the steps below for easy setup.

Step by Step Guide

1.  Open a browser window on your computer and visit the URL displayed on the phone (microsoft.com/devicelogin)

2.  If the code is not showing on your phone’s screen, press the “Refresh the code” button on your phone’s screen to get a new one. Then enter the code into microsoft.com/devicelogin, and choose to associate the device with your Blinn account.

3.  When the URL asks, “Are you trying to sign into Microsoft Authentication Broker?” click Continue, then close the window when it says you have signed into the authentication broker. Your phone will then sign into your Teams account.

4.  Click “Next” on your phone’s screen until you get to its home page.

 

Connect Bluetooth

Bluetooth is required for full phone features. Follow these steps:

1.  Click your avatar on the upper right corner of the phone’s screen and choose “Connect a Device.” Click “Connect” next to your computer name.

2.  On your computer in Teams, you will get a Connection Request screen that looks like this:

3.  Click “Connect.” Bluetooth is now linking your phone with your computer.

Enable Phone Lock

You will want your phone to lock when you lock your computer. To do so, follow these steps:

1.  Click your avatar on the phone’s screen in the upper right corner, then click Settings.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the list and choose Device Settings.

3.  On the Phone Settings menu, tap “Phone Lock.” Click the sliding button to “Enable Phone Lock.”

4.  Set a 6 digit PIN and confirm it, then click OK. Press the Teams icon at upper right to return to home screen.
