Polycom 500 Basic Features

Overview

To use a Polycom CCX 500 with Microsoft Teams, ensure it has the correct firmware (Teams Mode), sign in using your Microsoft account (either directly or via web browser), and then use the touchscreen to join meetings, make calls, manage contacts, and access features like voicemail and calendar, just like the Teams app on your computer.

Initial Setup & Sign-In

Sign In: On the phone, select Sign in > Sign in from another device. A URL and code appear. Enter these on your computer's web browser (on docs.poly.com or similar) to link your Microsoft account.

Key Features & Usage

  • Make Calls: Tap the phone icon, enter a number, or search your directory/favorites.
  • Join Meetings: Access your calendar from the phone's interface to join scheduled Teams meetings.
  • Call Control: During calls, use "More" for options like Hold or Transfer (Blind or Consultative).
  • Voicemail: Check messages via the voicemail icon and listen or call back directly.
  • Status: Set your presence (e.g., Do Not Disturb) from the Teams menu.

Advanced Features

  • USB Audio Mode: Connect the phone to your PC via USB to use it as a speaker/mic for PC-based Teams calls.
  • Dark Mode: Go to Settings > Display and enable the dark theme for reduced eye strain.

In essence: Once set up, the CCX 500 functions as a dedicated Teams device, bringing familiar calling and meeting features to your desk with a touch-friendly interface.
