Refresh Your Teams Phone

Overview

Normally, on your desk phone, if you visit Voicemail and Recent Calls, the Message Waiting Indicator light will turn off. If you have already done this and the light remains on, please refresh your phone by following the procedures below:

Step by Step Guide

1.  Sign Out of Your Desk Phone

Tap your photo or initials in upper right corner of phone. Tap Settings. Tap Sign out.
Tap OK button to sign out. It will take a few before the phone signs out.

When complete, the phone displays a sign-in code

or a Refresh code button. You are now signed out of the phone.

2.  Reboot the Desk Phone

  • To reboot the desk phone, interrupt its power supply by unplugging the Ethernet cable located on the back of the phone as illustrated below. You need to press the small tab on top of the Ethernet connector in order to release it from the phone. The phone should lose power when this cable is disconnected.
  • Wait ten seconds and plug the cable back in.  You should hear a faint click when the cable is properly seated.

3.  Sign Back into the Desk Phone

Open a browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, etc.) on your computer and in the address bar at the top, enter in the URL displayed on the telephone’s screen: https://Microsoft.com/devicelogin

In the window that opens, enter in the code displayed on the phone.

Click “Next” or “Continue” as needed.

If a Microsoft Sign in window appears, enter in your complete Blinn email address, or, select your work account if it is offered.

If the Blinn College District Sign in window appears, enter in only your username (no @blinn.edu) and your Blinn password.

If asked about trying to sign in to Microsoft Authentication Broker, select Continue.

4.  Pair Desk Phone with Your Computer

When the steps above have been completed, Verify the audio device connection in Teams on your PC by selecting Calls. At the bottom of the screen below the Dial Pad, you should see the name of your desk phone which looks something like this: CCX 500.  If you see Custom Setup instead, select it and see if you can change your audio device’s speaker and microphone settings to display CCX 500.
