Auto Forward Email to a Personal Email Account

Overview

You can set up automatic email forwarding in Outlook through your account settings or by creating a mail rule, depending on whether you want all or just specific emails forwarded. This can be done on the web version of Outlook or the desktop app. 

Step by Step Guide

On Outlook.com or new Outlook for Windows 

  1. Sign in to your Outlook account via a web browser.
  2. Click the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Click Mail > Forwarding.
  4. Check the Enable forwarding box.
  5. Enter your personal email address in the field provided.
  6. Optional: Check the box for Keep a copy of forwarded messages if you want to keep copies in your Outlook account.
  7. Click Save

On classic Outlook for Windows 

  1. Open the Outlook desktop application.
  2. Click the File tab.
  3. Click Manage Rules & Alerts.
  4. In the "Rules and Alerts" window, click New Rule.
  5. Select Apply rule on messages I receive and click Next.
  6. Without selecting any conditions, click Next again and confirm with Yes when prompted to apply the rule to every message.
  7. Under "What do you want to do with the message?", select redirect it to people or public group.
  8. Click the underlined people or public group link and enter your personal email address.
