Attaching Files as Adobe Links

Overview

To attach files as Adobe links, open your email client and use the Adobe add-in to select your files and share them as a link, which can be stored on Adobe's cloud storage or OneDrive.

 

Problem

Outlook is sending all attachments as adobe cloud links with the ability for the recipient to edit or comment on the attachment. 

 

Resolution

Change Adobe's settings in New Outlook

  • Open a new email in Outlook.
  • Click the "Adobe Acrobat" tab or the "Message" tab and find the "Adobe Acrobat" group.
  • Click on Settings.
  • In the Adobe cloud storage settings, choose the option to "Never prompt while attaching".
  • Click OK.
  • For the change to take effect, you may need to restart both Outlook and Adobe Acrobat. 

Change Adobe's settings in Classic Outlook

  • Go to File in Outlook and click Options.
  • Select the Advanced tab.
  • Scroll to the Link Handling or File and browser preferences section.
  • Find the option "Open hyperlinks from Outlook in:" and change the dropdown to Default Browser.
  • Click OK to save the changes.
