Discreetly Send to Multiple Recipients

Overview

BCC is used to discreetly send emails to multiple recipients by hiding their email addresses from one another. This prevents others from seeing who received the email and protects their privacy, which also reduces the chance of accidental "reply all" storms.  Note that  Microsoft warns that use of Bcc can cause some junk-mail systems to treat a message suspiciously because Bcc is also commonly used by spammers.

Step by Step Guide

1.  Open a new blank email and fill out the subject line and message body.

2.  Place your own email address in the To: field.

3.  Place all of your recipients’ email addresses in the BCC: field. Be sure to separate the email addresses with semi-colons.

4.  Double-check that you have included an email address for each recipient that needs to receive the email.

5.  Click the Send button.

If you do not see the BCC:  Field, you can access it from the Options tab.

In New Outlook -

Start a new email and click on Bcc in the upper right corner.

It can also be added by navigating to the Options tab:  New Outlook > New message > Options > Show fields > Show Bcc.

In Classic Outlook -

Click on the TO: field and a secondary window will open. You can also access BCC: from them Options tab
