How To Link A Concourse Syllabus To An eCampus Course

Overview

There are a couple of ways that an Instructor can link their eCampus course to the matching syllabus in Concourse. A widget can be placed on the course homepage that will link to the Syllabus, or an External Learning Tool can be placed on the course Content page. These methods Will Not Work in a merged course. merged courses will require the instructor paste a direct link or upload a file of the related Syllabi in the course. 

Homepage Widget

These instructions walk through how to place the Concourse Syllabus widget on your course homepage:

  1. Access the eCampus course where you would like to place the widget
  2. Click Edit Course in the blue navigation bar
  3. Click the Homepages link
  4. Click the Active Homepages dropdown menu
  5. Select an appropriate homepage that contains With Syllabus in the title
    • There are many different types of homepages available for instructors to choose. The most appropriate one is normally dependant on the publisher that also needs to be linked in the course. If you cannot find an appropriate homepage or have questions about what would be the best selection please contact the Distance Learning department at 979-209-7298.
  6. Click the Apply button

Once these steps have been completed, the Concourse Syllabus widget will appear in the top right corner of your course Homepage. Clicking the widget will open a new tab to the course Concourse Syllabus.

External Learning Tool Link on the Content Page

These instructions walk through how to place an External Learning Tool link on the course Content Page:

  1. Access the eCampus course where you would like to place the link
  2. Click Content in the blue navigation bar
  3. Navigate to the module where you would like to place the link
  4. Click the Add Existing Activities button
  5. Select External Learning Tools from the drop down menu
  6. Click the Concourse Syllabus LTI link in the list of links
    • You can also use the Search field in the top right corner of the Add Activity window to directly search for the link.

After completing these steps a Concourse Syllabus link will be placed at the bottom of the module. The link can then be repositioned or edited like any other item linked on the content page. Clicking the link will open a new tab to the course Concourse Syallbus.
