Unable to Log in After Password Reset

Overview

Sometimes, despite resetting the password, a user is still unable to successfully log in to the Blinn System.  This can be due to a variety of factors.

Problem

User is unable to log in after a password reset.

Resolution

Please give the following a try and see if this resolves your login issues.

1. Make sure you are logging in using ONLY the username and not the full email address.

2. Reset your password and verify that you receive the message that the password has been successfully reset.

3. Make sure you are using Chrome.

4. Clear you browser history/cache for all time.

5. Go directly to the myBlinn portal

  • Type my.blinn.edu
  • Do not use a saved link or bookmark
  • The myBlinn portal is NOT the same as the myBlinn Phone App

6. Try incognito mode on either Chrome or Edge Ctrl-Shift-N

If this works, then a rogue extension is interfering with your logins.

  • On your computer, open Chrome in standard mode.
  • At the top right, click More More and then More tools and then Extensions.
  • Disable each extension one at a time and test login after each time to find the one that is interfering

7. If you are using a Google wifi router, you will need to connect via a direct ethernet cable.
