How To Use a Reset Code

Overview

The user has been issued a reset code by the IT Help Desk or has requested a reset code from within Password Manager.

Step by Step Guide

1.  Navigate to https://password.blinn.edu/. If you are already logged in to the password manager system, you will need to log out and log back in to see the correct menu.

2.  Enter your full Blinn email address and the characters contained in the Captcha, then click OK.

  • Students:  firstname.lastname##@buc.blinn.edu
  • Faculty/Staff:  firstname.lastname@blinn.edu

3. Once on the Home page for your account, choose the “I Have a Reset Code” option.

4.  Enter the reset code (passcode) you were provided and click Next.  If the reset code has expired, a new Reset Code will need to be generated.

5.  Fill out the Question and Answer profile and click Next.  NOTE: The Q&A profile can be used going forward to reset a forgotten password.

6.  Set the initial password for your Blinn account and click continue. (The password must be at least 12 characters. You cannot use any part of your name, date of birth, or other personally identifying information for the password.)

7.  You should receive a message confirming that the passcode was successfully used.
