How to Copy Selected Components

- Click the Search for Offering button
- Type the course to copy from in the Search Textbox
- Click the Search button
- This search is very specific. If you are having trouble searching for the course that you want to copy from try copying the title of the course you want to copy, then return and past it into the search box. You may also try searching for the semester and then browse the list of results and select the appropriate course.

- Click the grey Select Components button
- If the course being copied has been copied into the current course before, you may be prompted to confirm that you want to copy again. If so, then click the blue Yes button.
- Check the boxes for the items you wish to copy
- For each item you check, decide if you want to Copy all items of that type or Select individual items to copy. If you select to copy individual items then you will be prompted to select those items on a subsequent page in the process.
- Some items can Include associated files. If the copied items have files(.pdf, .docx, .html, ect...) associated with them then this option will make sure those files are also copied. It is recommended to leave this option checked unless there is a specific reason not to.
Be careful when copying
Content this way.
Content only includes modules, their descriptions, and links within the modules. It will not include the activities and files linked to. The items being linked need to specifically be designated to be copied. If these items are not copied, but the links for these items are copied,
Broken Topics will appear in the course.

To avoid this, make sure to also copy any activities(
Quizzes, Dropboxes, Discussions, Checklists, ect...) that are associated with the
Content items being copied. Also make sure the check the box for
Include associated files is checked to be sure any associated files(.pdf, .docx, .HTML, ect...) are copied.
- Click the blue Continue button
- If Select individual items to copy was selected in step 11, a page will be presented to select the specific items you want to copy. The instructor will be presented with a page for each group of items they chose to Select individual items to copy from.

- Choose to Offset Dates for components to be copied by checking the Offset all dates of copied components
- Offseting Dates will automatically adjust dates and times on all the copied material by the specific amount selected. It is recommended that you review the new dates after the material has been copied.
- Click the blue Finish button
After completing these steps the Instructor will be placed on a Copy Course Components History page with a loading bar. Once the copy process is complete, the loading bar will be replaced with a check box. This process may take several minutes to complete depending on the amount of material that needs to be copied. It is ok to navigate away from the course at this point. The instructor can return to this page by clicking the View History link on the Import/Export/Copy Components page.
